My portrait for the exhibition was taken at a networking night in a local studio.
The model is Misuzu. After taking several portraits, I used one of the available props, I wanted to try for an effect that showed mystique and was totally different to my other portraits of her. I experimented a bit with the lighting until I got the effect I was aiming for. I took several images at different focal lengths and once loaded on to the computer where I could see them better, I finally decided on this one. I did a some work on the skin, darkening it a little and lightening the eyes to enhance them. I ensured there was still detail in the shadow area of the face. On the whole, I am really pleased with the way it turned out which was probably better than my initial concept.
