I’m sure you won’t be surprised to hear I felt quite at home at the Trentham monkey forest….

This was the first time with the club and the first time with really young monkeys so it was a bit different than previous visits.

On entering the enclosure we were told there were 11 baby monkeys at the moment…..20 yards up the path we were told there were 10….what happened in that 20 yards?!?! We didn’t dare ask again in case another one went missing!

There were a number of very young monkeys looking a lot like Golem and still with dark fur. All very cute and doing baby things for the cameras so well worth a visit at this time of year. We hadn’t quite made it to the 20 of us that would have got us a whole £1 each off our entry fee but, as the money goes to the care of the inhabitants, no=one was bothered..

For anyone who hasn’t been, there are regular talks and feeding times throughout the day and the staff are very helpful and friendly and always willing to answer questions. There are about 140 monkeys at the moment so there are plenty to see and photograph as the little tinkers are always up to something!

Definitely worth a visit and definitely worth the entrance fee. Here are some pictures from the day:
