In what is probably a camera club first our storeroom was taken over by stormtroopers last night. No, hang on, I’d better at least TRY and get this right; it was taken over by a stormtrooper, a snowtrooper and Boba Fett.
Yes it was our first ever sci-fi night and we had three fantastic models along to help out in their superb costumes. We really don’t do things by halves at Willfield!
Lots of people also brought in various other pieces of sci-fi paraphenalia with some claiming that it really belonged to their kids…yeah yeah…. I tried to sneak off with a model of Wall-E but will just have to add it to my birthday wish list as Andy was watching it warily. (They are available on ebay if anyone is interested…
My nephew, Joseph, had kindly supplied some super models for us to shoot and came along to meet the stormtrooper and pals but spent most of his visit playing with his toys!
Alan had splashed the cash on a £1 Star Wars Easter egg which was so nasty he left the egg behind after sampling the accompanying chocolate….I’ll give you my verdict on the egg later…..
*Chocolate update: Disgusting. Just because a cacao seed once walked past the manufacturing plant doesn’t give you the right to call that chocolate. If you buy your kids one of these for Easter you obviously don’t love them.
The night was a great success and a lot of fun with some fabulous photos as you can see below. Pam reported that the local kids were pressed up to the windows and arguing about whether we had real Star Wars characters or people dressed up in costumes….
I mean, as if we’d have people dressed in costumes! This is a link to the guys, real or not….
