And here are the rules, guidelines, prize and entry details from The Sentinel:

We launched the competition on January 1st, 2015, with a running date until Friday 23rd January, followed roughly each month after that. All entries must be submitted electronically in jpeg format and a minimum 300dpi, to steve.bould@thesentinel.co.uk. Pictures can be either black & white or colour, the competition will be open to amateur photographers only, with photographs relevant to our area and which must have been taken within one month either side of the starting date. Entries must be submitted with name and address of the photographer along with a mobile telephone number.

Each month a topic will be given and the winner will be chosen from the entries received, the winner will win a prize and have his/her picture taken at the presentation and a gallery of their work along with the winning picture published as a page lead or online gallery or both.

Pictures from the competition will be used for the Readers calendar at the end of the year with one of the pictures being chosen as the years overall picture winner and would receive an extra award and being featured on the cover of the calendar.
