The Mother Town of Stoke-on-Trent. The home of the mighty Port Vale (formerly Burslem Port Vale of course). The former home of world class potbanks like Royal Doulton and some still open pottery works. The former home of Robbie Williams….did he really get the inspiration to write Angels from the Burslem Angel? Let’s hope so eh!
It’s also a great place to take pictures as we found out on a treasure hunt set for a previous club night out. One of my pictures from that night was selected to be in The Sentinel calendar for 2014 which made it even more of a worthy night out too.
There’s also the picturesque Burslem Park just up the road which, even when there aren’t events on, is a great place to take pictures. It’s near the Wembley of The North, Vale Park…or that is how it was planned until funds ran out. I’m not sure what the restrictions are on taking your cameras to matches but you could always use the cameras on your phones to capture the atmosphere and maybe even a goal or two (as long as they’re scored by the team in white!).
I thought I’d let the pictures do most of the talking this time….and if each one is worth 1000 words….phew that’s like….a lot! These pictures were taken on just two separate days so I’m sure I’ve missed a lot….or maybe you have other ideas of what’s good to photograph in Boslem. Do let me know!
