DESCRIPTION:For some of our nights out this year we will be putting in things that people have requested and tonight will be depth of field in landscape photography. We will all be there to help out and work together whilst enjoying this wonderful setting. The pool has a number of features including waterfalls and at least one tower as well as having woodpeckers. \nThe nearest registered postcode is ST8 7QY (there is a car park here according to Google maps) but the reservoir is signposted from the main road which is the A527 and it is just off Greenway Bank.

DESCRIPTION:Just us in a chapel previously featured on the TV as we have our own night at Bethesda Chapel in Hanley. Wonderful from outside and fascinating on the inside this is a trip not to be missed. \nA reminder to everyone that images are not to be used for commercial purposes and are for personal use only. \nThe chapel is on Albion Street\, round the corner from the museum\, postcode ST1 1QF. \nI didn’t tell you this but Tesco just down the road offers three hours free parking….. Some on street parking is available right outside the chapel including disabled spaces. There’s also a muliti-storey car park round the corner near the police station. The latter options need to be paid for so bring some coins along.

DESCRIPTION:We have a competitions secretary and a deputy yet we haven’t entered a competition for a fair while so we are doing something new! We are having a one night internal competition so you can see how these things work\, get some constructive criticism on your pictures and maybe even win a prize. You can just come along and watch of course. \nHow this will work will be established later but it will be digital pictures only so you don’t have to worry about the costs and hassle of getting your images printed. We will be getting an external judge in so everything is fair and he will view the pictures anonymously. \nHopefully it will inspire you all to enter competitions although\, I must stress\, this will not become a main feature of our club but will be something available for those that want to take part.

SUMMARY:Trip to Trentham Gardens
DESCRIPTION:With a lake\, many fountains\, wonderful gardens\, statues\, works of art\, old buildings and a barefoot walk amongst many other things this is always a fabulous night out. Meet just over the bridge from 18:45 onwards. \nParking is free but you will have to pay to get into the gardens-prices vary depending on age etc but the price goes down after 5pm-or it did in previous years anyway. You can pre-book tickets online here. Annual passes are good value and can even be bought using Tesco Clubcard vouchers like we did. \nTrentham Gardens is on the A34\, postcode ST4 8JG.

DESCRIPTION:I do love this place. The peace and tranquility of chattering photographers while people try and attempt a quiet stroll amongst this amazing scenery is a sight to behold…. \nThere are rocks\, a pool and some incredible views to keep you occupied while you wait for the sunset. And I’ve booked a cracker this year! \nTo get to the Roaches take the A53 road from Leek\, Staffordshire towards Buxton. After about 4 miles and about half a mile past the Three Horseshoes Hotel take a left turn signposted Upper Hulme. After a hundred metres take the left fork. Follow this road for about one and a half miles. Park in the lay-byes – you can not miss the Roaches! Using Satnav use postcode ST13 8UB.

There are a few water features so a tripod and filters may come in handy as well as wildlife and scenery. DESCRIPTION:Those of you of a certain age will remember the so called golden age of television where cheeky chappies reigned supreme and slapstick was the mainstay of Saturday night telly. I wonder how many of you remember the Pete and Andy show though? \nIf you do\, you’re madder than me as I just made it up in a bizarre way to introduce tonight’s entertainment when actually it will be far better than TV has ever been (Netflix not included). From the land of Top of the Pops and The Tube\, Andy will be doing a talk on aircraft photography. From the land of Return to the Forbidden Planet and Doctor Who films with Peter Cushing we have Pete doing….something…tbc…..come on\, I only persuaded him to do something last week….give the guy a break or he’ll just show an episode of Eldorado…..that’d teach you!

DESCRIPTION:Why do we only mock Tudor buildings? \nYes\, tonight we have private access to the fabulous Ford Green Hall which is set alongside a nature reserve. \nFord Green Hall is a 17th century timber-framed farmhouse\, complete with period garden offering visitors a fascinating insight into the life of the 17th century. \nPlease pay your £2’s on the night as we are paying to hire the house. There is a large free car park alongside.
