DESCRIPTION:A dry and pleasantly warm evening is in store as we revisit a local beauty spot. \nPlenty to photograph here so a great night is in store. \nThere is a free car Park which is about 200 yards from the lake itself by the steam train station. You turn off up to this at the point where the road to Leek passes under the railway bridge. You then walk alongside the railway track to the lake. \nThere is also parking on this road – which is the one which goes to Leek. You can then walk along the feeder stream by the side of the garage to the lake. \nHotel  Rudyard car park costs £3 pay at the reception. DESCRIPTION:Hold onto your horses\, rein in the reindeer and batton down the hatches because it’s only time again for the magic that is the AGM! This is the time of year when full scale rioting usually breaks out amidst the clamour to get on the committee. Before that though some of the most heartfelt and passionate speeches are read out bringing laughter and tears of emotion to all lucky enough to bear witness to them. Things got so exciting once that someone actually stayed awake right through to the tea break! Let’s hope we can double that number this year! \nThe second half features the magic and mystery of none other than Mr Robert Hulme. With his magical pictures it’s a mystery we don’t have to pay him to present. DESCRIPTION:Wow\, we actually have Vanley Burke coming along! Yes the man often described as the Godfather of Black British Photography is coming to Willfield. This guy has exhibited in the V&A museum! Tell your friends and their friends and get them to come along-we will be in the big hall-and they are welcome for just £3.50. Vanley will be talking about his career in photography which will make for a very interesting evening.  Here’s a bit more about our VERY special guest this evening: \nHis iconic images have captured the evolving cultural landscape\, social change\, and stimulated debate in the United Kingdom over the past four decades. He draws strength from remaining a humble man of the community\, whose personable character allows him to capture the intimate and private nature of people’s everyday lives. \nPhoto by Martin James\, Newport Photographic Club \nHis body of work represents possibly the largest photographic record of the Caribbean Diaspora in Britain\, and as an avid collector\, Vanley continues to connect histories through his substantial archive housed at the Library of Birmingham. From local community organisations to the Victoria & Albert Museum and Whitechapel\, Vanley has exhibited widely in the United Kingdom\, and as far afield as New York\, South Africa and China. \nVanley’s artistic enquiry is not simply limited to black and white documentary photography\, as his eccentric rebellious nature lends itself to sculpture and painting\, and crafting art that gives life a shape. His simple motivation has been the preservation of culture and history through creation\, documentation\, and discovery which often leaks into the private.
