SUMMARY:A model\, instruction\, a competition and film noir
DESCRIPTION:Well this is going to be different! \nOur guest tonight is a model\, a photographer and a judge. Here is his introduction to what will be happening: \nI have delivered a film noir evening to many clubs in LCPU over the last two years and I am an internationally published character model and stage and screen actor. I am also a photographer and would bring along my own lights\, modifiers and triggers for your members to use on the night. I am also an LCPU judge and so after the event I encourage attendees to submit one image per set for offline assessment and scoring and choose a winner. I am otherwise known under my modelling name G Brodie and my best work can be seen on Instagram @gbrodie_model. \nHere are a few examples….but who will he be on the night??? \nHere is his facebook page.

DESCRIPTION:Back again the very popular Bob Brind-Surch is this time doing a presentation on Tanzania and the wonderful photographic opportunities it presents. \nWill you be booking a tour there with him by the end of the night? Will I be persuaded to go back for a third time? \nWhatever the outcome it will be worth well more than the measly £2 you’ll need to get in! (Non-members £3.50) \nWhat Bob says…. \nI was fortunate enough to live in East Africa as a boy in the late 50’s and the region and its wildlife has held a fascination for me ever since. Photographing African Wildlife in its natural surroundings has absolutely no equal. I now run regular guided trips to Kenya and Northern and Southern Tanzania. This talk outlines a trip to Northern Tanzania made when the Wildebeest are migrating in their greatest numbers\, the predators are ever present and other animals and birds can be seen in abundance. This coupled with unspoilt wilderness\, stunning landscapes and amazing sunsets makes this truly a Photographer’s Paradise. \n\nI will take you on a journey and an adventure through Northern Tanzania explaining how I took the photos I use to illustrate the talk and telling a few tales along the way.

We will be meeting up in the long layby on Roach Road; turn off the A53 at Upper Hulme and follow the road past the tearooms. The postcode is given as ST13 8UB and the What3Words are political.redeemed.smirks If you don’t know what that is\, it’s an app that gives precise directions to a 3-metre wide location anywhere in the world. Download it and you will be able to work it out I’m sure. It is more accurate than using postcodes. \nI have the night off work so I don’t have to rush off…..so no doubt it will be pouring down! \nsorry….

DESCRIPTION:We are back in the big room this week for a miniature extravaganza as we delve deep into the wonderful world of macro. Claire will be bringing in her fancy lens (don’t ask me to pronounce it!) and do please bring in any macro lenses you have or any lens that has a macro setting. It’s a difficult but fascinating subject but\, if you master it\, it’s well worth the effort. \nPlease bring in your own subjects\, Paula will bring in some flowers; slow moving creatures are good and Claire is going to see if Hayley still has any critters she can bring in. Unfortunately Claire’s tarantula is still a little shy and isn’t ready to star yet….one day! \nBring cameras and macro lenses. Tripods would be very useful as the steadier you are\, the better the picture.

SUMMARY:Night out to Trentham Gardens
DESCRIPTION:Trentham Gardens surely needs no introduction from me….so I won’t…. \nTonight they are open until 9pm so it’s a perfect time to visit\, particularly when prices drop after 5pm-I have messaged them to ask how much it will cost. I have heard back: \nThis year the evening ticket will be available after 6pm priced at £6.50 per person in June\, July and August. These tickets are not available to book online\, we are accepting walk-ups only. \nMeet just over the bridge from 18:45 and we will start wandering (usually in all directions!) from 7pm. \nCar parking is free by the way.
