SUMMARY:Night out at the Roaches
DESCRIPTION:Our first Thursday night out this year will not be a carbon copy of last year. Yes we went to the Roaches and had a great time but hopefully we won’t have awful roadworks in Leek this year and we can sort the parking a bit better. \nWe will meet again on the Winking Man car park (ST13 8UH) at 18:45 but I would encourage anyone to car share before that if you can. We can then car share from the pub car park as well so we can get everyone parked up easily at the Roaches. \nThere will be a fantastic sunset of course….I’ve booked it!

SUMMARY:Trip to Etruria Industrial Museum
DESCRIPTION:You asked for it and I am happy to be able to say that I have had the okay for a private visit to this wonderful local museum. Plus we get hot drinks and biscuits as well! \nThere will be an optional guided tour and there will be plenty going on as Thursday is their work night. Entry includes admission into the museum and visitor’s centre. The optional guided tour will cost just £4 and last about 40 minutes for the mill and 20 minutes for the canal\, warehouse and check office. You can decide whether you would like to do this on the night and pay the museum directly. \nThe car park over the bridge will be open-postcode ST1 4RB-and people with mobility issues can park using the Lower Bedford Street entrance. \nHave a look at their website below. \nPlease pay your fees on the night as they will be going to the museum. Additional donations welcome. \nIf anyone wants to use their photographs commercially you MUST get permission from the museum.

SUMMARY:Stone Canal wander
DESCRIPTION:Many of you asked to do some canal visiting and where better to do this than having a saunter along the canal in Stone. It’s a nice easy walk and you can wander as far as you like in either direction. Just rock up and off you go! \nCrown Street car park has 89 spaces and is free after 6pm. I have put the link to the car park below. \nAfter a previous visit you are warned not to take a picture of Rosie and Jim if you see them in a window of a narrowboat….unless I’m there to film or photograph the reaction of the boat owner!

DESCRIPTION:2016 was a great year for both Willfield Camera Club and Stoke-on-Trent. The latter was named as the European City of Sport project and the former were asked to document this with their photography skills. There was sport going on all over the place and our members were running round like the proverbial insect with the coloured rectum getting shots of as many sports as possible. \nThe shots were then submitted to a committee at the council and they whittled the pictures down to the amount required for four simultaneous exhibitions across the city. These will be on display throughout the Summer and each location has different pictures on display. \nFor your viewing pleasure you can see them at: \nFenton Manor-City Rd\, Stoke-on-Trent ST4 2RR. DESCRIPTION:Yes\, I’ve done it again! \nThe trip to Gauntlet is many peoples’ favourite outing of the year as we get a private visit to this wonderful sanctuary. We get our own private flying display\, the chance to visit the other animals they have there plus the chance to shoot birds of prey sat in their natural surroundings. \nThe cost is £25 per person with £10 of that being paid by the club (tbc with our dear treasurer) so\, with no fees to pay\, that’s just £13! We may be collecting deposits but will confirm this soon.

DESCRIPTION:Thanks to Paula we are thrilled to be able to visit Cheddleton Station on the Churnet Valley Railway and have a free train ride thrown in for good measure. This is a lovely old station with lots to photograph and the cafe will be open to buy drinks and snacks. \nWe will probably get some models for you to photograph as well. \nIMPORTANT!! If you want to ride the train please be no later than 7pm. We can take pictures at the other station and there will be time to take pictures at Cheddleton Station when we get back. \nPlease pay your fees on the night. Extra donations welcome. DESCRIPTION:By popular demand we have the welcome return of Simon Watkinson\, this time doing a presentation on Travelling Asia-A Photographer’s View. You have all of the below and maybe the chance to win another lens cleaning cloth! \nGuests are welcome for £3.50. \n\n\n\nThis lecture will document popular areas of India and places ofinterest. There will be an extensive talk on Nepal with images frombefore and after the earthquake. Simon went out to Nepal after theearthquake in 2015 to provide aid and there will be documentation onthis also (what we have seen on the news really does not show what hashappened and is still happening to Nepal and its people). He is alsotraveling over to Nepal in February 2017 to provide a further aidmission to the remote village of Kunchowk\, which has failed to receivefurther help. There will also be images from Myamnar (Burma)\, whichonly became open to Western tourists again in 2012.

DESCRIPTION:Yes\, the night you all look forward to is finally here as the whole committee step down for a few minutes\, some of them yabber on for a bit and all of you have the chance to become one of the committee as all positions are up for grabs. If you would like to take one of the positions on the committee let me know beforehand and\, if more than one person would like a position\, then a very civilised vote will take place. We used to use the old Raving Bonkers boxing game to decide who got the position (see link below) but sadly both the heads ended up in Gerald’s cup of tea one night and we couldn’t fix them back on. So a vote it will be. Or maybe Buckaroo? \nWe are then thrilled to offer up none other than Mr Alan Rust who will be making his debut tonight. With pictures and stories from his trip to Canada\, Alan will be looking for your support to help him through his first night at the front so maybe leave those rotten tomatoes at home…..until his second go at least.

DESCRIPTION:Tonight will mainly be about looking for a possible new venue for the club and the Boiler Works has excellent facilities. As part of the evening we will be using their photography studio\, which includes an infinity curve so do bring your cameras along. \nThe venue is behind the first set of gates on the left and the car park is just a bit further along on the left behind some black gates. The gates are key coded and someone will be there to let you in. The car park is bigger than it first looks as you can park around the building. Other spaces are available on the street.
