British, American, German and Russian soldiers will create displays, show armaments and stage battle re-enactments and skirmishes. Military vehicles will bring the war times to life and fantastic 1940’s music will keep your feet tapping throughout the day and the home fires burning.
Living history groups will demonstrate how life was during the war years. Stallholders will be selling civilian and military memorabilia and there will be a fantastic fashion show of clothes of the time as well as and ENSA show for those who can remember them. A great day out for all the family.
Said Curator, Lesley Smith – “This is the greatest summer event in the Castle’s calendar. Singing, dancing and just amazing presentations from weaponry to ‘Dad’s Army. We are all looking forward to it.”
The Great Hall will also be open with guided tours. Our pretty tea room will serving a range of hot and cold food, as well as a bar – all reasonably priced.
